Madolsima is already well-known among the young and tourists travelers. If you enjoy nature, The Hidden Beauty is a must-see destination. Madolsima is located in the Badulla district of the Uva province. It is very popular for the make camps above clouds.

Location

This is a small village with only a few families. From Colombo, it takes about 7–8 hours to go to Madolsima. Badulla Town is 42 kilometers away. This is situated between 2300 and 3400 meters above sea level. If you willing to travel by bus you should get Route NO 99 bus which is Badulla Colombo and then you can get the bus to Madolsima from Badulla.

Most of travelers are aware of at what season it is good to travel Madolsima. In my opinion that It is good to go months like July, august and september. We can see heavy rainfall and full of  mist around the year but in these months its little bit dry and less mist, so you can more engage with nature and get cleared view about beauty of nature.

Madolsima is a relatively small town. People of many ethnicities can be seen. That town is home to Sinhalese, Tamils, and Muslims. The village is always surrounded  in mist, giving you a unique experience that you only get to have once in a while. When you visit this small town, you can sample a variety of foods.

If you want to spend the night in this magnificent location, there are two options for camping. The following are the details. Both sites will allow you to camp. You can make camps in upper Madolsima or Lower Madolsima places.

 The most incredible aspect is that your camp will be located above the clouds. Can you picture the sights you'll see? A panoramic view of the area is available. If you're a nature or wildlife photographer, you'll be able to capture moments that will last a lifetime. Madolsima would be a great site to wake up above the clouds in the morning. Mini worlds end

Mini worlds end located in the higher part of Madolsima mountain. Its hight is 383 meters and located 700 meters above sea level. The area mini worlds end located call The Robbery state. This mini worlds end also known as Pitamaruwa Mini Worlds End. In this area also you can make camps if you want and when sun rises you can see its happening with the beautiful view as well as you can see Kandy, Ampara, Monaragala, Batticaloa and Badulla districts.

DS Rock

You can see this rock when you are climbing up to Mini worlds end. It is located in your right hand side and near to the Kokagala tea Plantation. People say that it look like Hon. D. S. Senanayaka who was the first prime minister of Sri Lanka However, it reminds me of an elf that some children make a man using snow.

 

Hotels

Although officials have temporarily prohibited tourists from making night tents, it is still required to arrange lodging for an overnight stay in Madulsima. Let's see what would be the greatest place for you to stay. However, keep in mind that these lodging options are not luxurious. However, if you don't have a way to camp, it would be ideal to stay at night. These lodgings are less than 15 kilometers away. These locations are easily accessible if you plan to arrive by private vehicle. it is hard to find public transports for this hotels.

It is good if you can go with guide for your protection.While you are walking around this small village you can see Pallegama gem mines, A small power plant that generate 250 Kilo Wats for the using to tea states,  tea factory and for houses.

 

Madolsima is a must to see. The area is rich of natural beauty that you will remember for the rest of your life. But, sadly, the travelers have put the area in do not consider about the nature. Travelers are irresponsible, and they frequently desecrate Mother Nature's gift. Local travelers, in particular, have a habit of scrubbing the area with polythene and never cleaning it.
